Radical Amazement: A Conversation With Ron Kauk

Ron Kauk is a legendary rock climber with a lifetime of experience on the vertical walls of Yosemite. Not only has he pioneered some of Yosemite’s greatest lines, he’s also developed a sophisticated philosophy for living in this time of unprecedented global challenge. He’s also formed an inspiring non-profit organization dedicated to “Education Nature’s Way.”

I’ve followed Ron’s career for many years, but was intrigued to see his 2018 presentation to Google, and his powerful ideas about education and the art of living. Later, I met with Ron in Yosemite’s Tuolumne Meadows for two engaging days of conversation. Here are some excerpts from that powerful experience.
